Im not sure why but I'm asked to perform a captcha every time I open a new tab. Not sure why, but its quite annoying, only occurs on my PC not on mac or phone.

Hello,
This is most likely unrelated to the browser. Are you using a VPN by chance? Some VPN providers may trigger extra CAPTCHA checks.

Also, it sounds like you changed your new tab page using an add-on. What site are you using for your new tab page? Can you edit the URL to go to a page that doesn't have the same behavior?
