Read Aloud Charge

more options

Read Aloud charged me $25.00 on 5/31/25, but I did Not subscribe to this feature. And when I open my Firefox browser to I see where I can add this feature, but have not as I do not need it.

I called the phone number listed on my American Express charge, but it states "this number is not in service." Also, I visited the website, and it looks like a phishing shell that first asks for my credit card number to 'look-up' the charge. No way!!

I'm disputing this charge with the AmEx, but you may want to be aware of this issue. My office does not allow us to use Firefox, and now I see why.

Before I uninstall Firefox, I'm removing all credit card history from the background.

I don't think Firefox has a paid text-to-speech feature. The free one in the Reader view uses the facilities provided by your OS (View web pages in Reader View).

Were you using the "Read Aloud" extension? You could check the author's support email to see whether the charge was by them (left column of https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/read-aloud/) or the contact form linked on their support page (https://readaloud.app/).
