I just deleted a folder full of unique bookmarks representing considerable research. How do I 'undo' ?

I was trying to Sort by Name, but hit Delete, because the right-click menu presentation shifted. No worries, Ctrl Z should undo on PC. Nope. Now I'm learning the only restore is through JSTOR/backup. I don't want to restore a previous state of operation. I want to un-Delete a folder. Is that a feature somewhere, somehow?

And secondly, can I force confirmation for all future folder deletions?

Thx TechHorse for the good answer. It turns out that the deletion stuck despite trying to undo it. I do have json files kept historically, but as you warned, I don't want to restore the whole thing. But I also had a not as recent version of a bookmarks html back up. I can load that into a browser as a web page, click on the hotlinks and then re-bookmark them. So short version is that I don't think I lost anything. For subsequent readers here, this is a good reason to occasionally back up to html as well as to json. HTML can be imported, but it can also just be opened like a big web page with links. Once you're presented with the links, you've got control of the problem.

mediavant, sometimes you can press ctrl+Z when in either the bookmarks library or bookmarks side panel, to undo a delete of bookmarks.

Another possibility is to try restoring a bookmarks backup and see if the missing folder can be found there. See the steps in the section "Restoring from backups" here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them

(but be aware that your current set of bookmarks will be overwritten by those in the backup, so you may wish to backup the current set before restoring the older set)
