firefox always re asks for my password on my new computer, never had this on my old computer. i typically only need to put in my password after not using the computer for awhile, then it never asks me again.

If you have secured your saved logins, it's normal for Firefox to ask you for your Primary Password either shortly after startup or the first time you load a page that has a saved login. But usually then that doesn't repeat for the rest of your session.
Just to confirm, the dialog you see matches the one in the attached image?
