Unable to view YouTube comments

James replied

Unable to view YouTube comments using Firefox on android. I can view the comments on Opera, duckgo and chrome.

This problem started about four days ago. Comments show on the short videos but not the regular videos. When I tap on "comments" the resulting page/frame is empty.

This is Desktop. Mark this as resolved and post it here. --> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/mobile

The provided link goes to a page containing posted questions but there isn't an obvious way to post a new question. Can one of the moderators transfer my question to the correct forum?

Guess they're busy, but see my screenshot. Anywho... Post a screenshot showing the issue and a link. Let me go look on my device.

Here's what I see. see screenshot

When I tap on "comments" to display the comments for a YouTube video, the area where the comments are supposed to be displayed comes up blank (I uploaded a screenshot but for some reason it's not showing in "reply preview").

Just for info, when I use the link to the Android forum that you provided earlier the resulting web page doesn't have an "Ask the community" button as shown in your screenshot.

Workaround for others who might be experiencing this problem:

Copy and paste the video URL into the Opera browser to view YouTube comments. Be sure to enable the ad block option in the Opera settings.

One nice thing about using Opera is that you can scroll down the comments and view the video at the same time (something that you couldn't do in Firefox when it was possible to view YT comments in Firefox).

I also tried this workaround using the DuckDuckGo browser but had to seek an alternative when I started getting disruptive ads while watching YT videos.

Anyways this section you posted in is for (desktop) Firefox as the form to post threads in Firefox for Android section was https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/mobile/form

Your thread on this in Firefox for Android section is at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1479464
