Hi Dave Stadler,
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties signing in to Firefox and that it has been frustrating for you. As a Firefox support volunteer, I'd be happy to assist you with this issue.
To better understand and resolve the problem, could you please provide some additional information? Specifically, could you let me know if you encounter any error messages when trying to sign in to Firefox? Additionally, are you using a Firefox Account to sign in, or are you referring to signing in to specific websites or services within Firefox?
Please provide as much detail as possible so that I can assist you more effectively. Once I have more information, I'll be able to provide you with further guidance to resolve the sign-in issue.
Thank you, Firefox Support Volunteer
Hi Dave, your Firefox reported itself to be version 106, which is 8 months old now. Have you been sticking with that version, or did you roll back to an older version recently?
Which email site is giving you problems?
One note for now:
Firefox recently rolled out "Total Cookie Protection" to more users. This limits how sites can use "third party" or "cross-site" cookies, meaning cookies from different websites than the one you see in the address bar. Some sites pass you back and forth between different servers during login because they have their services spread out over a number of different servers. In those cases, you might be able to submit a form successfully on one page and then the next page says you are not logged in. Frustrating!
You can make exceptions to this feature when needed (for each server that you visit as part of the process of using this company's services). More info in the following articles:

Any difference signing in to email?
