Text display problems on different websites

more options

I haven't changed anything except for Firefox auto-updating to version 104.0.2 this morning but now some sites with dark mode are nearly unreadable (see attached screens 1-2 of Twitch and Giant Bomb, respectively), and others have had their default text size rapidly shrink (see screen 3 of a Wikipedia page), with no warning. What was fine yesterday is no longer working correctly today. I tried disabling and re-enabling different extensions and clearing my whole browser cache and that does not seem to have helped. Is there any explanation or quick fix for these issues on the way or a way I can roll back to 104.0.1 until the problem has been solved?

PS: I'm also using the latest version of Windows 10 and my video card (Radeon RTX 480) drivers and neither have had any updates in the past 24 hours.

You didn't share your add-ons list, but this is currently the #1 reason for dark-text-on-dark-background problems:

There is a bug in version 2.3.3 of the Facebook Container extension that causes font color problems. Do you use this add-on? An update (version 2.3.4) was released a few hours ago which should fix it. Firefox should find it on a routine check at some point, but to speed that up:

Open the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the right side, below the search box, there is a gear/wheel icon. Click that icon to drop the menu and then click "Check for Updates" to trigger an update.

Alternately, click Facebook Container to show its Details panel, scroll down below the description, and click "Check for Updates".

Thanks, that seems to have worked, I guess I missed that in my add-ons list while going down the list.

Thank you for reporting back. It definitely would not have been my first thought, either!
