Where is the options (& then “security” button) in Firefox for Acer-002-2.0?

I wish to totally remove the request for the primary password that appears quite frequently. (I don’t have one now & don’t really want one or even the screen that wants me to put one in all the time)

Please reply to [email removed from public]

Thank you

It's the version of Firefox I have (found under help / about)

I see no "options" or settings, or "security" buttons under the hamburger, so I thot that info might be helpful

'Morn'! That version of Firefox was installed on my Acer pc when I bought the pc

Hi

If you type about:preferences#privacy into the address bar, you should see the option to turn off the primary password listed under "Logins and passwords".

There is no such version of Firefox.

The Firefox versions are listed in https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/

I will submit a screen shot which will provide PROOF of the FACT that there is a version of Firefox as I stated.

Now, maybe it was only made for new Acer laptops, but here's the proof that I AM RIGHT.

As per your picture, you actually have Firefox 98.0.2

The part you are looking at is some Acer reference to the modified Firefox they installed on your laptop.

You could try uninstalling this version and download the official unmodified Firefox 98.0.2 from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

O ok..sorry..I wasn't sure

But anyway, I just decided to create a brand new pw for security's sake & be done with it.

Maybe down the road, I will change up the browser, but this one works for now

Thanks

You appear to be using a third-party Firefox version provided by the maker of your computer (Acer) and not Firefox from the Mozilla server. Such a version can be branded differently and thus can have other default settings and configuration.

The version of Firefox that comes preinstalled on Acer devices is from Mozilla.

Oh ok...thank u

So, in your opinion, would the official unmodified Firefox 98.0.2 be better? In what ways? What would I lose from my current version if I downloaded it?

Thanks

The version that you have installed on your computer is build of Firefox from Mozilla with modifications approved by Mozilla for Acer devices.

There is nothing wrong with the version you have installed and it should work perfectly fine, but if you wish to move across to a pure Mozilla build we can help you with that if you wish.

I guess if it ain't broke, why fix it? So I think I'm ok for now. But thank you so much for the offer to help.
