Firefox will not connect to Amazon.com (nor smile.amazon.com). Error "Secure Connection Failed"
Update: Thanks to jscher2000. I disabled all add-ons and can now browse. Next will be to try them out one at a time to find the offender. Cheers
Windows 10
Firefox 97.0 (64 bit)
Amazon.com
Suddenly, without any changes I am aware of, Firefox will not connect to Amazon.com (nor smile.amazon.com). I get the error "Secure Connection Failed" followed with "An error occurred during a connection to smile.amazon.com. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR". All other sites, including banking, seem to be fine. I can connect to Amazon via Edge. What does work, besides Edge, is Firefox's troubleshooting mode. What's disabled in TS mode?
I have tried the following: 1- With and without VPN. 2- Disabled Defender. 3- close everything and restart. 4- Clear cache, cookies, and everything else I could think of then close down and restart. 5- Reinstalled a fresh version of Firefox (and then also cleared cache etc and restarted).
This has been happening just over a week and there was a brief period, a couple days ago, when it connected to Amazon but that did not last. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks very much.

Hi Vicky, Troubleshoot Mode temporarily deactivates add-ons, hardware acceleration, any userChrome.css / userContent.css files, and the JavaScript compilers. And possibly some other things that do not immediately come to mind.
As the next step, you might want to:
Double-check content blockers: Firefox's Tracking Protection feature, and extensions that counter ads and tracking, may break websites that embed third party content (meaning, from a secondary server).
(A) The shield icon toward the left end of the address bar usually turns a bit purplish when content is blocked. Click the icon to learn more or make an exception. See: Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop.
(B) Extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix usually provide a toolbar button to manage blocked content in a page. There may or may not be a number on the icon indicating the number of blocked items; you sometimes need to click the button to see what's going on and test whether you need to make an exception for the site.
Any improvement?
