Please review "jscher2000 posted an answer to your question 'FF 89.0 bookmarks'" in Mozilla Support Forum.

The "temporary fix" as provided was, indeed, temporary. about:config -- "browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled" change from "true" to "false."

It continued to work through update 91.0.2, but not with the latest iteration (92.0.1) It now appears I'm stuck with the new, not improved and not helpful bookmark format.

The "userChrome.css file" option is not one I'm willing to attempt. Why does Mozilla think it knows better than me what I want in a browser?

A new, and easier, fix will be deeply appreciated.

The menu spacing should be fixed in version 93 (release 05-10-2021) in a compact mode.

NOPE!

Operating with v.93. This "fix" did nothing. (Yes, I followed each bit exactly.)

Try again, Mozilla, and leave something that works alone.

Jeez.

What is that? Is there a solution somewhere among those messages, in a forum to which I don't subscribe?

A specific resolution to my query will be appreciated.

The change in Firefox 93 is for drop-downs from the two toolbars:

  1. Bookmarks Toolbar folder drop-downs: Starting in Fx93, Compact Mode density tightens these up
  2. Bookmarks Menu button () drop-down: Starting in Fx93, Compact Mode density tightens this up (see below screenshot)
  3. Top menu bar (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help) drop-downs: Compact Mode density has no effect (CSS option remains)
  4. Right-click context menus: Compact Mode density has no effect (CSS option remains)
