where are bookmarks imported from ie stored in firefox

被選擇的解決方法

Hi, do you mean, where can you find them and use them, or where does Firefox physically save them on disk?

Accessing Bookmarks in Firefox

Imported bookmarks (IE Favorites) may appear on the main bookmarks menu or they might be migrated to multiple locations. To get an overview, I suggest opening the Library window ("Show All Bookmarks"), for example, by pressing Ctrl+Shift+O (as in "Organizer").

The left column shows the main 3 buckets: Bookmarks Menu, Bookmarks Toolbar, Other Bookmarks. You can move items between the buckets by displaying the items on the right and dragging them to a different bucket in the left column.

If you would like to have the Bookmarks Toolbar always displayed, or always displayed on new tabs only:

Check out the steps in this article: Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window.

If you would like a button for more direct access to items on the Bookmarks Menu:

Either:

(A) Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to drag the icon to the desired spot on the toolbar

(B) Use the method from Bookmarks in Firefox - section entitled: How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?

  • Click the "Library" button:
  • Click "Bookmarks"
  • Click "Bookmarking Tools"
  • Click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"

There's a bunch more info on bookmarks in Firefox in this article:

Bookmark Storage

Firefox stores bookmarks and history together in a database file named places.sqlite, and there is a companion favicons.sqlite database file that stores site icons. These files generally are not useful in other programs, but if you are familiar with working with database query tools, then you have the option to take a peek.

Firefox makes approximately daily bookmark backups and keeps them for approximately two weeks. These will appear over time on the Restore menu described in this article:

Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

All of these files I mentioned are stored in your currently active Firefox profile folder on your computer. (If you create a new profile, it will not have any of that data.) You have the option of using Firefox Sync to share bookmarks between different Firefox installations. Let me know if you have any questions about that. Sync sometimes work as a "backup" but often does not, so you may want to include Firefox's data folder in your regular backups. More info on backing up your profile folder:

Does that get anywhere near answering your question(s)?
