Blue screen "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just just collecting some error inf and then we'll restart you". "Stop code: DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION"

I have swopped from Google two or three times to Firefox with the same result as above (does not crash with Google). I would like to stay with firefox, therefore any help would be appreciated. Information as to how make Firefox my default browser would also be appreciated. Regards.....Bryan

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed free to use malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?
