I was able to remove it buy downloading Malwarebytes and running it in safe mode Windows 10 desktop. Then after reboot to normal mode click reset Firefox 80. 09-06-20. had to re-add the title bar and Chrome folder in the profile to get my multi bookmarks toolbar back and tabs below search bar then since I was signed up with a Mozilla account for Firefox all the apps just loaded along with all the settings and bookmarks. I gotta hand it to ya Mozilla this is one sweet program and they have thought of everything. So don't get discouraged if you get hit sometimes because my Vipre Internet Security did not catch this since I had the check all open and closing folders Edge Protection off. Still the scan should have picked it up. It cost me $40 for a year of Malwarebytes but that's a cheep fix as far as I am concerned.

You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
