Firefox password

Hi,

If I already use a password manager service, why would I be required to have something similar with Firefox, I don't understand, why would I even need a password with Firefox, is it for added security? I am using a few Firefox extensions, is it for that? Every time I sign on to Firefox browser, I'm prompted for a password. When I headed over to settings to cancel it, a message said not to. This feels more like a pain in the b**t?

Please advise Thanks for helping

When you say "sign on" it makes me think of a Firefox Account. Firefox can save your Firefox Account credential in Lockwise, the built-in password manager. You can secure your locally saved Lockwise data using a Master/Primary Password -- that has a different looking dialog.

Could you describe in more detail what you're seeing?

You certainly can disable the built-in password manager if you like. That would be simpler than telling each one what you want all the time. Just uncheck the box for

[_] Ask to save logins and passwords for websites

on the Preferences page.

Are you using the Firefox 80 beta version, because the Firefox 80 official release is scheduled for later this week ?

Are you using Sync ?

Hi, I did check settings, it says Firefox is update and the version is 80.0, I've never chosen the sync option, not sure if this is the beta version. Maybe just disabling it, as advised, is the best option?

Thanks

If you haven't saved any logins in Firefox that you need to keep, you can reset that password to get rid of it:

Reset your Primary Password if you've forgotten it
