My Firefox just crashed. The usual box appeared to say that it had crashed and it will restart and recover the tabs I had opened.

Unfortunately, it appears to have started completely afresh. No recovered tabs, no extensions, no bookmarks, absolutely nothing.

After reinstalling a couple of extensions, I signed into my Firefox account expecting my bookmarks to be restored but nothing. It's like everything had just been wiped with no warning whatsoever.

I am now at a loss. Everything has gone. Is there any way of restoring my bookmarks? Is there a temp folder of some sort on my system that I may use to recover them?

Thanks very much and hope you can help.

I do actually have 2 profiles . . . I've changed the first one back to default, launched it and hey presto, everything is back.

Do you know if there's an extension or feature in Firefox where I can see how much memory each tab is using

Type about:memory<enter> in the address bar. But I don't know how to use it.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's it!

I do actually have 2 profiles. Coincidentally, about 3 days ago, I was reading a magazine that gave a tip on having an extra profile to keep business and pleasure separated. I thought that's a good idea. I can now see this new one was changed to the default one!

I've changed the first one back to default, launched it and hey presto, everything is back.

I think I'll delete the other one because I'll probably forget all this again!

Thank you so much for this, I wouldn't have figured it out at all.

I wonder why there's an issue with Google Drive because I didn't think there was a connection between the two programs as I don't use it via the browser. Internet Download Manager I do use and I know it has a dodgy reputation! Microsoft One Drive I don't use that all and wish I could disable that. Maybe that's why I've recently had a huge memory hog with Firefox?

Could I t trouble you for something else? Do you know if there's an extension or feature in Firefox where I can see how much memory each tab is using and so close them individually without having to restart the app?

Thank you again I really appreciate this.
