Windows 7 x86 (3GB limited memory) - Long-running Javascript tabs (e.g. Facebook) consume too much memory (~460MB in addition) from 58% to 73%

I have a serious "complaint" that Firefox 79 (32-bit) under Windows 7 Pro SP1 plus fixes does a very poor job of limiting its proportion of memory usage, or running cleanup automatically as per the about:memory "Minimize memory usage" button's action. Can some optimisation be done to alleviate this, say every 15mins perform this function automatically?

Workarounds: 1) Log off/Sign out of tab and close it. Open new tab and reload bookmarked URL. Move tab to former position, as necessary. 2) Close and re-open Firefox entirely.
