Firefox browser
For the past week, on every start up, Firefox requests to do an update. I agree, but if I shut down and then restart later, it asks the same question. On and on for some 8 days now!!!!! How do I stop this?

When you open Help > About Firefox what version does it show?
Current is 78.0.2 .
The user agent as this forum shows us only reveals the full version number - 78.0 - and Firefox has been updated twice via a minor update to fix specific faults that were reported since the full version came out.
Perhaps your installation is "stuck"; or maybe that message is wrong. Whatever the cause please let us know what Help > About Firefox now shows.
