</p><p>I transmitted my website code from windows to ubuntu.
It is written with charset iso-8859-1
and noted in meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1".
But running from localhost on ubuntu, all german umlaut characters are changed
whereas they are shown correctly when running from the website.
That means to me, Firefox ignores the charset statement from localhost, but respects it from the web server.
I would like to keep charset iso-8859-1, since I would use the windows and the linux site as well.
