Hi Support,

since few weeks I am unable to use any Firefox version (from older to the newest) with Windows 10. The issue is really weird because I can start the Firefox application; however, I am unable to connect to internet and I cannot open many Firefox pages like Options, about:config, about:support, Help> Troubleshooting information, etc.

The issue occurs for both standard Firefox installs and with Portable Firefox installs from different sources (Portableapps.com, Winpenpack, etc.). Restarting in Safe Mode has not helped.

I am looking for suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue and hopefully solve it, as Firefox is my preferred browser.

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide! Best regards, Viki

Update: added a screenshot showing two weird things visibile on every Firefox (Standard or portable) :

1) there is a blue line on top of the tab; 2) the field where the url address is typed.

Thanks. Viki

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?
