Fortunately, I found <a href="https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1283813" rel="nofollow">this</a> discussion, and essentially if you search <strong>about:config</strong> into the search bar, look for
</p><p><strong>browser.urlbar.update1</strong>
</p><p>Set the boolean to false, and restart Firefox. Problem solved!
Hopefully they do fire that guy tho...
