Blank screen, though bookmark bar etc show

more options

Using Firefox 73.0 (64-bit) Windows 10. Screen on Firefox blank, though bookmarks etc show. If click on favorite in favorite bar, like google.com, does not fill in address space. If put url in address space and hit enter, nothing happens -- blank screen continues.

All other browsers work fine. Firefox has been trouble free before this happened. Tried: 1. reinstalling Firefox 2. Starting Firefox in safe mode 3. refreshing Firefox 4. Ran Malwarebytes looking for malware. 5. Went to Windows registry restore point, which solved the problem for one day, than Firefox blank screen problem returned when started computer the next day. Any help to get Firefox back would be appreciated! Thank you.

hi, we had a few users describing similar symptoms on windows 10 when they had firefox run in compatibility mode for win7 - can you check if this is the case for you and if so disable any compatibility settings? https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/15523-change-compatibility-mode-settings-apps-windows-10-a.html

Thank you philipp!! Went to File Explorer, right clicked the Mozilla Firefox application file, went to properties --> compatibility mode and kept trying things. Not sure exactly which one worked but all of the sudden, MAGIC!

You solved this vexing problem that I was racking my brains about -- thought I had lost Mozilla Firefox for good. I appreciate your help, philipp!

Curiously, though other people have complained about this exact problem, you are the only one I know about that suggested checking for compatibility issues. Hopefully your answer here will help other people who have this problem, which for me seemed to start with a Windows 10 update.
