Preferences says Facebook Container "requires container tabs", but Facebook Container seems to be working

General Preferences seems to believe that I don't have container tabs enabled. It says that Facebook Container "requires container tabs" and suggests I disable it. (See first image). However, the add-on seems to be working - the tab has a black underline (see second image)

I only noticed this message today, so I have no idea how long it's been around. I've tried many things, including

 - making sure Firefox is up-to-date
 - restarting Firefox (many times, including in Safe Mode)
 - removing and reinstalling Facebook Container
 - disabling all add-ons except Facebook Container
 - closing and re-opening Preferences after each and every change

I even installed a system update and re-started my computer.

I'd appreciate all and any help.

Thanks

If you approve the container permission for the extension when you install the FBC extension then container tabs will be enabled automatically and you can't disable this (i.e. it is grayed as you see in the screenshot first), otherwise you need to disable/remove the extension.

Thank you, cor-el. Unfortunately, even that doesn't make any difference.

I noticed that the other add-ons that require container tabs - CanvasBlocker and Firefox Multi-Account Containers - also seem to be working just fine. It looks like Preferences is simply confused.

So I tried creating a new vanilla profile. The steps I took were: Create a new profile Restart Firefox Notice that Bitdefender added two add-ons (see below) Add FBC Check preferences

The problem is still there.

I haven't put much time into figuring out how to prevent Bitdefender from automatically adding the two add-ons (Traffic Light and Bitdefender Anti-tracker) short of uninstalling it. I'll work on that.

I also can't remove the Bitdefender add-ons, which really annoys me. I've sent reports in on both of them for that.
