Hi Mcba, you should not lose your Saved Logins just because you quit Firefox. Is that the only data which is not getting saved -- bookmarks, history, add-ons are all carried over from one session to the next?

However, it is possible that the Password Manager might get turned off on the Preferences page between sessions. Is that the issue?

Do you have a logins.json file or possibly logins.json.corrupt in the profile folder that contains login data?

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

What else would you expect to see there ? Do you only see the website and not the user names and possible passwords if you click Show Passwords ?

If the column of the website is too wide then try to make the Site column smaller by dragging the right end of the column header to the left. Note that there is a selector icon at the far right that you can click to set what columns to display.

I must have. I am very frustrated. I have been using Firefox for several years. Now it not only does not save my passwords but it does not save my bookmarks menu! The problem is change for the sake of change. Programs have to be changed. People need something to do with their time. There are always problems when a program is 'updated'. I do not do updates because of the problems they create. Unfortuanetly, I was forced to use a new version of Firefox. It is now more trouble than it is worth.

Do you mean that you see a list of your saved logins, or you see an empty table? Is the table emptied when you quit/restart Firefox?

It's not intentional that you would lose an entire menu. Which menu is disappearing? Presumably the main menu bar isn't changing. Is the problem that the button doesn't stay on the toolbar between sessions?

The toolbar menu completely disappears from the page. The items in the bookmarks menu also all disappear. I have to create a new tool bar and I have to create new bookmarks every time i start Firefox.

Well, that's definitely not normal.

Have you done a normal shutdown/restart of your Mac since this problem began, to release file locks and complete any pending updates?

Could you check whether your normal data is available in a different profile, as follows:

Profile Manager Page

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

This page should list at least one profile and could list many. (Each profile has two folders and one or more buttons. Do not use any Remove buttons!)

The profile that Firefox is currently using will have this:

This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.

Do you have another profile named default or default-longnumber listed on this page? If so, you can check whether it is the one you were using recently by clicking its Launch profile in new browser button.

If it isn't what you want, simply close that new window.

If it IS what you want, back on the about:profiles page, click the Set as default profile button for that profile so Firefox uses it automatically at the next startup.

Any progress so far?

Entering 'about:profiles' just provides mumbo jumbo. Nothing relevant to my problem. I am unwilling to jump throug ha myriad of hoops to solve the problem.
