Firefox has blocked the use of LASTPASS and KASPERSKY PROTECTION without any warning and Firefox is now worthless to me!!!!!!

The new update (66.0.3) blocked LASTPASS and also Kaspersky protection. There was no warning and it is a major problem for my 5 computers. I NEED THESE and i'm sure many others do, as well. Unless there is an EASY and QUICK fix i will be forced to abandon firefox and i've been there from the start.

I AM APPALLED that there was no warning about these serious and disabling changes as well as what would be disabled. At least we could contact the software affected and find out if there is a fix before we are just summarily screwed by loss of function.

You may be fixing security concerns, but you have created much more serious security concerns in the process...

hi again, mozilla just released the official update to v66.0.4 which should also mitigate this problem. you can manually trigger it by going to the firefox menu ≡ > help > about firefox panel.

hi cybersailer, this is/was caused by an unforeseen technical problem unfortunately (an expired certificate used in the process of verifying addon signatures).

a fix for this is already being rolled out - for details, please see: Add-ons disabled or fail to install on Firefox

thank you for your quick reply. UNFORTUNATELY i read an instruction to delete the add-on and reload (presumably with an acceptable version) from firefox add-ons. i tried this but the Lastpass add-on won't download and reinstall.

i will make the firefox data collection change as you suggested, but i'm not sure what to do about reloading Lastpass.

Once the update phillip mentioned has taken effect on your local instance of firefox you will NOT NEED to do anything beyond re-sign into the extension ( LASTPASS user myself and seen this take effect).

thank you, both.

I had deleted the extension and cannot download it on several attempts. i hope that when the update occurs, downloading lastpass extension will again become possible.

i added the message (above) i get every time i try to download the extension. data collection change made about 3 hours ago. nothing yet. don't really understand the comment about checking my connection. connection is fine for everything else.

If your issue is with addon certificates expiring, try this as Chris Ilias on my post:

Mozilla has rolled-out a fix for this. The fix will be automatically applied in the background within the next few hours, you don’t need to take active steps.

In order to be able to provide this fix on short notice, they are using the Studies system. You can check if you have studies enabled

  • Go to [=] > Options > Privacy & Security.
  • Make sure Allow Firefox to install and run studies is check marked.

I you had it disabled, you can disable studies again after your add-ons have been re-enabled.

They are working on a general fix that doesn't need to rely on this and will keep you updated.

  • hotfix-update-xpi-signing-intermediate-bug-1548973
  • hotfix-reset-xpi-verification-timestamp-1548973

You can temporarily set app.normandy.run_interval_seconds to a lower value (21600 => 100) to see whether that gives the hotfix. Close and restart Firefox and check about:studies.

What has happened please. We use Kaspersky Internet Security 2018 on our computers, we are running Windows 7 Pro, and will be upgrading to Windows 10 and Kasperksy Internet Security 2019.

Today, we have this message that Kaspersky Protection could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled, this was one of our extensions, and not it is unsupported.

I was able to enable it in Explorer, but we have used Firefox for quite a long time and had no issues, now we have this problem.

I contacted Kaspersky and they walked me through to Install Add On From File and we tried, and we get the error message that the Add-On is corrupt.

Please, please Firefox team fix this problem, otherwise we will be forced to use another browser.

the studies page has 2 items. see image. only one is suggested above. i'm afraid the about:config changes are "above my pay grade"... so to speak. i'm hoping somehow mozilla will come up with a direct fix. the good news is WATERFOX works in the meantime.

still problems. nothing fixed though the studies page shows a change (see image). still only one of the studies mentioned has shown up along with one that wasn't mentioned.

still can't download lastpass extension, though it starts and stops, never quite making a successful download and it then blames my connection which is fine for everything else.

what is with the constant connection problem???

Although this is an apparently resolved 2+ month old thread referring to an earlier version of Firefox, I now have v. 68 and I am experiencing the same (or a similar) problem: my LastPass extension is enabled, and I appear to be logged in to LP, but login fields will not populate. I have disabled the extension and re-enabled it several times, but to no effect. Suggestions welcome.
