Gmail background tab - manually adjusting performance priorities
My Firefox gets laggy after using it for a while. I also observe high CPU usage even when the browser is idle.
I manually inspect the issue using about:performance tab. I have two GMail tabs pinned down all the time for my inboxes. Looks like these tabs constantly hit Medium energy impact even though they are pinned on the background and not active.
- Are there any known underlying issue with Firefox performance and GMail?
- Is there a way for me to manually adjust background tab priorities, so that I could force my pinned GMail tabs to some lower tier, so that they do not keep consuming CPU?
- Is there a way to get a snapshot of the browser CPU usage, lag and slowdowns issues over all tabs over a longer period of time? E.g. a performance graph, similar you can get inside Web Developer Tools for a single page.
