how to stop 'save password' prompt

i do not ever want to see the 'save password' prompt. Any way i can get rid of it? "help" instructions only explain how to stop it occurring for a particular site. SO every time i go to a different site, i get the prompt again.

Type about:preferences#security<enter> in the address bar. Look under Logins,
