Last time I updated, Yahoo became my search page, and nothing worked! I'm afraid to update again!
Is it really necessary to update all the time? As I said, the last time I updated, everything was erased and I had a new search engine! (Yahoo) I don't want a new search engine! I don't want everything I've saved to disappear! I don't want to lose everything and find that nothing works! Do I really need to update, and if so, is there a way to do it without all the nightmares?

Yes it is EXTREMELY important to update. Please update to Firefox 64.0.2. Google is the default search engine in Firefox, but you can always change that. Add or remove a search engine in Firefox
Firefox from mozilla.org does not even come with Yahoo as a search engine option anymore since Fx 57 and later due in part with the legal dispute with Yahoo
