The scrollbar to the right of my Firefox window is small and difficult for me to navigate. Is there a way of making it larger and more visible?

Thanks!

被選擇的解決方法

I looked online and found a workaround involving editing my computer's registry. I was pretty easy and worked just way I wanted it to - scroll bars in all my applications are larger, not just Firefox.

Thanks!

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

How wide or narrow is it? Firefox usually follows the settings from Windows that you would see in other applications.

Is the problem on all sites, or just certain sites? Starting in Firefox 64, sites can make the scrollbar thin instead of having the regular width. You can prevent sites from doing that if it's a site-specific problem:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste scrollbar and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the layout.css.scrollbar-width.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false

That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.

Also, can you post the link to the instructions you found?

The increased width of the scrollbar is an eyesore to me, but just recently I started to use the up and down arrow keys on my keyboard - 'wish I had thought of that a long time ago, cause it's so much easier ......

I spend 12 or more hours each day, sometimes six days each week in front of a 27" LED monitor. Often with at least two or three windows open. After many years I'm very fast with computers, and would be known by some as a 'power user'. I'd also be known as an early adopter of new tech.

In my work and personal use I expect adjustable colors, widths, shadows and outlines of the computer's controls. The computer works for me, not the converse. This includes whichever browser I use. Depending on the reliability and speed of the browser and its plug-ins, I now cycle through browsers which include Brave, Opera, Chrome, and Edge depending upon what I need (want). If they break, I simply stop using it. That's the case with the Disconnect plug-in which fails to load the Google Mail browser interface in Brave and Chrome.

Because of this I'm now having a new look at Firefox, after abandoning it several years ago because its plug-ins kept crashing.

During my new testings, I also noticed there does not exist an easily-configurable scrollbar add-in to change the width, colors, shadows and outlines of the Firefox scrollbar. Such an add-in significantly reduces eyestrain, significantly increases speed, and creates significantly higher happiness coefficients among the browser's userbase.

So why hasn't Mozilla opted to produce those options in current versions of Firefox? Thank you.

@ Michael D. Austin :

The OP of this thread wanted to change the width of the scrollbar and found the way to do that.

After reading these post I find others are have the same problem with the width of the right hand scroll bar and some say they found a workaround, but nowhere do I find that solution.

This is very frustration!

I ran into this problem only when running Ubuntu, not Windows. Under Ubuntu the scrollbars for all apps (not just Firefox) would mostly disappear except when you brought the mouse cursor over them, and were still rather thin even after doing that. I found a solution on the askubuntu forums: https://askubuntu.com/questions/10145.../how-to-remove-overlay-scrollbars-in-ubuntu-17-10-and-18-04. (Actually I changed the '10pix' to '15pix' throughout their solution and like it better.)
