No, the update doesn't affect your cookies, bookmarks, history, etc. Personal profile directory is separated from the program files and update touches only the latter.

No, the update doesn't affect your cookies, bookmarks, history, etc. Personal profile directory is separated from the program files and update touches only the latter.
Note that some servers may invalidate cookies when they detect a change in the user agent.
