I cannot access sites from search on Firefox.

It finds the sites but opens a white block sort of pop up with a circle in the centre running round endlessly in front of the results.

I have tried every setting I can find to try to resolve this without success. It has only happend since the last update to Firefox. I have been using it for years and never had any problems with it.

I am now having to use e to search and I hate it. I don't understand why this has suddenly happened as I have done nothing to cause it that I am aware of. Now I just want this resolved and to get back to using Firefox as I have alwasy done.

Hi, not following you exactly on this a pop-up with a circle.

(note you are a update behind ) Go to Help --> About.

Could you please give your self a scan as there are several malware things that can cause search issue. https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ You do not mention what Search Site you have things set for in Options --> Search and do not mention if searching from the address bar or from the Search bar next to the address bar.

Please provide some more detail.

Do you recall installing any add-ons that might show a page preview, security rating, or other information when you hover over a search result?

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown or broken extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything related to search, or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?
