I get a ? mark in my apple dock replacing the Firefox logo and it won't open
I've downloaded Firefox yesterday onto my iMac and it has been fine, but now in my dock a see a ?, in place of the logo. and Firefox won't open.

Does reinstalling Firefox fix the issue permanently or does this issue happen repeatedly, even after reinstalling?

What appears to be an identical issue to yours has been reported on the Apple support forum (more information). The general steps seems to be simply to delete the icon from the Apple Dock manually drag and drop the Firefox icon from the Applications folder into the Dock.
