Firefox sync is repeatedly losing all my stored passwords and sites.
It's infuriating, this is the second time in two months that Firefox synch has just signed out without a prompt from me. When i sign back in there are no passwords or data. It's very worrying. Why? how do I fix it? WHAT has happened to all that very critical and private data? I'm very worried that I put my trust in Mozilla when actually it's flaky as hell and just as dangerous.
Using Linux Mint, Firefox 59.0.2, 32 bit

First, what happens when you press ctrl+shift+a?
Retaining user data isn't dependent upon Sync, Whether you are connected to Sync or not your data shouldn't be disappearing from within Firefox - ever.
As far as that data loss being related to Sync goes, is that data getting lost on any other devices that you have connected to that Firefox Account?
And, is that Linux Mint, Firefox 59.0.2, 32 bit device a laptop? IOW, the location of where Sync would be connecting to the internet be changed from a solitary location as with a desktop computer? That could account for why Sync wants you to log in once a month; IOW, when the location and IP address is recognized as being different by the Firefox Accounts server.
