something strange with me. If Firefox automatically update e.g. from 59 to 59.0.1 the language remains Dutch, but when I look in the control panel, it says that I would have the English version.

Did you download Firefox in your language from here :

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/?q=Dutch  ?

It is not uncommon that the installed programs window shows weird or wrong information about a program. Sometimes the updater doesn't remove or update a Firefox entry properly. You would have to check the Firefox program folder yourself to see whether everything is OK.

  • (64-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"

and I choose Dutch (64)

or

https://www.m64.info/index.php/firefox-64-bit-all-languages

and I choose Dutch.

When I download and install a file it goes fine, but when there is an automatic update, e.g. to 59.0.2, I see in the control panel us-enlish. It's not a big issue, but it is strange.

While the download links are to http://ftp.mozilla.org/ the m64.info site itself has no relation to Mozilla.

Thank you for that information.

Note that it's always best to download from that first link, though.

Like you said, it's no big deal, but would you please do as suggested by
cor-el  ? (Just to make sure that there are no 'weird things' going on .... )

I think you can use the information at the bottom of the Troubleshooting Information page to confirm your build is the language/locale you want. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

Sorry, I guess that won't match up with your language...

The very bottom section has locale codes like this:
