When I go to look at my saved logins I see some of them but others which I can use to access web site accounts are not there.

Are you using sync? Are you using anything like sync?

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

I am not using sync or anything like it. It is a relatively new computer and didn't have too many saved logins. There are 8 that work but only 5 show when I look them up. It is more of a mystery why this happens than a major problem. I can recreate or reset those that are missing but wonder why some show and some don't.

When you entered the username/passwords, did you get a small window asking if you wanted to save those entries?

If I had checked the box to not save the word then I would have to enter it every time I went to that site and yet it opens without asking so the word must be saved and yet it is not showing.

That is odd. I called for more help.

Are the missing passwords from the current Firefox release (58.0.2) or from an older release?

If they are from older Firefox releases then there might have be na migration issue because Firefox 58+ uses different files to store the passwords (logins.json and key4.db versus logins.json and key3.db in older versions). You can check for the presence of logins.json.corrupt in the profile folder (about:profiles).
