I see no loading icon, no information comes up, just nothing happens and ive no clue whats going on. Ive got the must up todate version of Firefox and latest version of Mac OSX 10.13.3

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Remove History For One Site

Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.

ive tried that. after trying on a different computer ive come to realize that for what ever reason, the text line for my password is not showing up on my main computer... As in its not there, i have the line for email, but no password. and tabbing through things it dose not show up...

also, the options for "forgot email" and "more options" also do nothing/ more options brings up a drop menu with 2 options but neither one dose anything.

so ive managed to log back in in a very round about way using the account recovery. my issue is that every time I quit firefox i am signed back out. Ive added google as an exception to the cookies list ( i think) but there is no "Stay signed in" option for me to click. I am starting to think there may be a issue due to firefox no longer using plugins and google needing java for the sign in..

Not so. I never log out of Mozilla or several other sites. Very seldom have I had to log back in unless the cookie has expired.

You may have a corrupt cookies.sqlite file. Delete cookies.sqlite + cookies.sqlite.old + cookies.sqlite-shm + cookies.sqlite-wal

Note: This will remove all information websites store on the computer.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

Profile data can be removed or not recorded several ways;

  • 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
  • 2) Privacy settings; (In the address bar, type about:preferences#privacy<enter>)
  • 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
  • 4) Mal-ware.

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar.

The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.

Hi,

Probably a rhetorical, if not dumb, question :

Have you checked 'Remember logins and passwords for sites' as shown in this screenshot  :

all that dose is auto fill text fields. it dose nothing for a page that seems to not work due to some plugin or addon application not wantingo to let the page load to its next step

At this point I have tried: clearing cookies and cache (though doing this started the entire mess in the first place) checked all my settings cleared histories downloaded a fresh copy of firefox used time machine to go to a previous version of firefox from moths ago reloaded a previous version of my entire system from a few days ago made sure java, flash and others are up to date

Like FredMcD said in his first post : "Make sure you're not blocking content."

If you're running any content blocking add-ons like AdBlock Plus, NoScript or Flash Block Plus : check their settings, or disable them to see if that will make a difference.
