I just updated from 2017 to 2018 of Kaspersky Total Security. FF identified the Extension as "legacy" and the functions accessed from the icon on the FF tool bar are not available. The icon is greyed out and when you click on it you get a very cryptic graphic image. I can't figure out how to capture it and include here. Functions I use include really important floating virtual keyboard, which allows you to outsmart keystroke watchers.

How can I bring this functionality back??? What does 'legacy' designation mean -- it accurately shows i updated it as of today.

Thanks for any help.

Problem fixed. Here's more info and how it was resolved.

1. I had to enable Kaspersky addon/extension on both firefox regular window and on privacy window generated by Kaspersky Safe Money selection. As soon as I did, the icon showed up on the firefox ribbon and worked as intended.

2. However, it appears that Kaspersky then generated two new default profiles for firefox -- one that resulted in opening a regular window and another that resulted in opening a private window. When I restarted Firefox only those two new generic profiles were available for selection. MY PROFILE was no longer available to see through the profile manager, but was visible as a stored profile when you looked at the computer file structure.

My computer guru was able to come in and do a few things using copying and renaming to make MY PROFILE show up in profile manager. I then deleted the two bogus default profiles and I am back in business.

I have reported this to the Kaspersky technical support team.

Hope this helps anyone else who encounters this issue.

Kaspersky has been causing problems of late. Contact their support and update their files.

Extensions marked as Legacy will stop working in Firefox 57 and later when only WebExtensions will be supported. They should still work in current releases.

Maybe check the Browser Console for error messages about this extension.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough to use web developer tools... Meanwhile, in update, I enabled Kaspersky separately in the browser window that open in their 'safe money' configuration as well as the 'normal' browser, and the K icon appeared in the menu bar and seemed to be working. However, when I restarted firefox, disaster. It required me to pick one of two profiles when i tried to open it. Both of the profiles are totally generic and contain none of my info, bookmarks, homepage, or anything else. In navigating through my computer with internet explorer, I can see a third profile, which I'm guessing may be what I want, but I don't know how to make it visible in the signon to select it and see. I'm in a mess now --- would it be helpful to try to open something in 'safe mode'? Is there a way I can go back to an earlier version and start all over again? I am definitely an end-user, not a computer specialist! I was in contact with K tech support and will be again, but not sure what to do next.

Hi   ! Kaspersky (like the majority of the security and anti-virus software) is a major pain in the toosh and (my personal opinion) the best thing to do is to remove it. With Windows' Defender (which is built-in) and the safest browser on the planet (Firefox of course) it's like being in Fort Knox.
