Firefox has been crashing, it seems randomly, on my Xubuntu Trusty desktop. I have reporting the crashes, but it is getting worse, Firefox is becoming unusable to me, so I'm here asking for some help.

My OS is updated, I'm using Firefox 53 but the crashes started months ago. I tried disabling the add-ons, safe mode and even reinstalling the operating system, but to no avail.

I cannot be more descriptive as the crashes seem random, sometimes I'm just watching a youtube video, reading my rss feeds on feedly. Once thing I noticed, it almost always crashes when a new window is created and then closed, like when a second window appears when I have to make a login or give a service permission to use a google account.

Here's my latest crash report: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/c63a580c-255b-4eec-9a61-52c9e1170505

The "r600_dri.so" and the "libgallium" seems to be related to my graphics card, a AMD Radeon HD 8370D.

Hope someone can help.

That looks an odd crash report, it may even be corrupted. Please let us have three or four other recent Crash IDs.

I suggest you try using Firefox in its safemode when you can and if it crashes in safemode let us have the crash id from that crash.

After some time in safemode Firefox didn't crash at all. So I tried it normally but with no hardware acceleration, the default theme, and all the extensions disabled. Firefox crashed 3 times always when I clicked "Save" when trying to download something. Here are the 3 reports (they look the same, but...):

This is still a problem with DRI (Direct Rendering Infrastructure).

Thanks for the reply

So, is there something I can/need to do? Or should I just wait until it gets fixed?
