The basic question: 'How to remove the Yahoo toolbar'?
Environment: Windows 10 Pro / Firefox (Latest Version)
This morning, all our work stations have defaulted to the Yahoo toolbar on Firefox! Due to the nature of our business, we are very particular about the contents of our workstations, and do not want Yahoo in any form to be present. A representative will be contacting the Yahoo Corporate Offices to discuss other options.
The Internet displays thousands and thousands of complaints about the Yahoo toolbar volunteering on PC's, and just about as many suggestions about the method to use to remove it. After a couple hours trying many of them, they don't work for us.
We also understand that the toolbar may have surreptitiously been installed during updates or installation of other software, and are researching the origin. The question at hand is how to efficiently remove it?
Assistance from the Mozilla Community will be very much appreciated - Imageman
The Yahoo toolbar is probably installed via the Windows Control Panel and adds a toolbar to Firefox and possibly other browser.
I mentioned in my post that there are a multitude of 'solutions' on the Internet that we tried. The link leads to many of them. Others involve installing other programs to do the job which add to the problem, Most all the suggestions are outdated,
We are after a step by step solution that will remove the toolbar at this time.
Appreciated your input - IM
Is this a actual Yahoo toolbar or the Yahoo search engine in the Search bar ?
The en-US Firefox for Windows, Mac OSX, Linux from mozilla.org comes with Yahoo as the default search engine while other locales have different search engines as default since Google is no longer the global default.
