When restarting Firefox, most of my addons are disabled (including Pocket) and the "First run" screen is shown, even though there was no update.

As said in the question, basically whenever I restart my firefox, it shows the first run screen, even though there was no update. I can recover my tabs and everything. Settings, bookmarks, history etc. stay the same. At the same time, all my addons (besides the GMX MailCheck one which prompts me to log in again and is doing its "first run" thing as well) are disabled. For some reason, even Pocket (which I actually use and is pretty hard to disable from what I gathered) is gone from all menus. I once managed to enable it again after accidentally finding an addons option in CC cleaner, but the next restart removed it again.

Reinstalling firefox solved the problem for a while, but by now it's happening again.

The Addons are not deinstalled or anything, a simple reactivation solves most issues, but this is really annoying given that GMX MailCheck tries to force their own "new tab" and "start" websites, as well as their own search bar etc. down my throat every single time... My problem is that I need it, given that my email accounts run over GMX. It's just weird that it remains the only addon that stays enabled. Besides GMX I basically only use adblock plus and Xkit (which is a tumblr improvement addon), the other addons remain deactivated unless I need them.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Are you using CCleaner to automatically clean up after a Firefox session?

If so, that might be the cause of your problems with Firefox. CCleaner is notorious around here for causing a multitude of problems with Firefox. Best to disable any "Firefox features" in CCleaner or learn how to use that program so that it doesn't cause problems with Firefox.

I actually don't use CC cleaner regularly and didn't turn on any firefox-related settings.

I deinstalled it and refreshed Firefox, and I think one of those did it? Last time when I reinstalled firefox completely it worked only for a while, so let's hope it'll work properly this time!

Thanks for your help!

Well, nevermind. I just restarted Firefox again and it did the same thing.

I don't have Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection but I have F-Secure running in the background. The Firefox addon is deactivated both in Firefox and F-Secure, though. The blocking of insecure websites is activated, obviously.

Any other ideas?
