I searched through them and found a bookmarks file from yesterday. So I went to "show all bookmarks" on the firefox tool bar and imported the file there. Everything was restored by doing this.
I then created an account to attach to my work so it will be easier to access from now on and will create my own backups, now that I have learned how in the last few hours. Thanks to you, I know how to find where the bookmarks are backed up on my system.
