I keep receiving messages that Firefox is not up to date on both the Mozilla support page and other pages as well. I check the about screen and downloaded the current version and install, however I am still seeing these messages. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox with the same outcome.

Would you have any suggestions?

Thanks for your time!

hi 7korchen, your useragent (the information the browser sends to websites to identify its version) - apparently mistakenly - shows you're on firefox version 42. probably some sort of toolbar or adware has overwritten it. please refer to this article in order to reset the user-agent settings in firefox: How to reset the default user agent on Firefox

Thanks Philipp!

The resetting of the user agent worked.
