you can THINK whatever you want, but ever since I started this thread you've done nothing, not taken responsibility; found 3,000 reason why it couldn't possibly be a mozilla issue, has to be me. Then you drop the neg "although you're talking about at least another 8 weeks before that kind of update would be pushed out" Like it matters, this is a real issue that could possibly affect thousands of people, and you think rome was built in a day. Issues don't get fixed at all if the team see's no issue.. thanks for all your help, it's been entertaining to say the least.. Honestly, I'm a CSA for a fortune 500 company, and if I gave customer service like you have done, I'd lose my job. I understand you're a volunteer, but at least CARE about your product, especially when the little guy is tugging at your sleeve

I do hope this gets fixed, and I'm glad someone has determined when it got broken, which was with the release of Firefox 46 on April 26, 2016.
From the beginning, I've been trying to figure out what is different about your MP3s because if this affected ALL MP3s I'm sure I would have heard about it in late April or early May, and not for the first time in August. Sorry that you consider this to be a blame game rather than part of a normal diagnostic investigation of why Firefox nearly always gets it right but with your MP3s it gets it wrong by 10x. That information seemed relevant to fixing the problem, at least from the perspective of someone who is neither a programmer nor audio expert.
In the meantime, you could code around this by serving Firefox users an audio tag that lists only ogg as a source.

Firefox 48 was already final by the time you started this thread. A fix has been created for this problem in the Nightly version of Firefox, destined to be released as Firefox 51. If it performs well in testing, there's a reasonable chance it will be moved up to Firefox 49 since there are 3-4 weeks left to add fixes to that version before its release in about 5 weeks.
AWESOME!!! I hope it gets sorted, mozilla is by far the best browser, just trying to do my part in keeping it that way :) have a great day..
