I have been having issues with accessing a page within a particular website. Everything else on this website is accessible. I have tried researching on Mozilla support and the information I have found does not correct the problem, ie, clearing history for the particular page, antivirus software, etc. On occasion when trying to access the page, I will get a popup saying that Firefox has prevented access to this page and do I want to allow it. I say yes and it will then work, but this error message doesn't always pop up. I can access this page in IE so I'm not sure what is preventing it in Firefox. Can you give any suggestions. I am at a loss as to what the problem is. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

See:

  • "3-bar" menu button -> Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> General
    Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the cache":

  • Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Thank you very much. Took me a while to go through all of your information, and I finally got it resolved with this link. So far so good. Thanks again. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/settings-network-updates-and-encryption#w_general-tab
