Dragging Google image search results to desktop in OX El Captain results in erratic cursor movement.

Up until recently, on a Mac, dragging images from Google image search results was straight-forward. As of a few weeks ago, dragging an image from Google results in the cursor jumping far left of the screen, the search results page moving to the top to show that you can drag and search by image, and finally the image will pop up on the desktop. This erratic behavior is evident exclusively with Google image search, and only in Firefox.

I have tested images via other search engines, and drag and dropping behavior from other websites - everything works as it should. I have also tested other browsers with Google image searches - again - everything works correctly.

Any suggestions for resolving this issue? I feel like this may be a compatibility issue between Firefox and the relatively new Google image search feature.
