everytime I log into Firefox (44.0.2) I keep getting a request to get a code# through my smartphone. Why won't Firefox recognize this pc?
Like I stated in the question above, Why won't Firefox recognize this pc after I log in? It seems to happen within an hour or two after I exit (without logging off) and then later start Firefox again. This has been going on for a week to 10 days. I have not made any changes to the pc except for whatever MS or FF have with their auto updates.

What are you logging into? In Firefox, only the Password Manager needs a login if the Master Password is set.
I'm logging into Firefox and hopefully, loads my home page. So basically, after clicking on the FF icon on my desktop, I'm hoping to get to 1st base aka my home page.
Please provide a screenshot of that "request".
See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.
Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.
see screen shot attached
Do a clean reinstall of the current Firefox release and delete the Firefox program folder before installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
- Download the Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows Registry and settings in security software.
- Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you uninstall and reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
If you keep having problems then create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

To get back to the original question:
Most sites that use this method of a second form of authentication then set a cookie in Firefox, which is how they recognize your browser the next time. If you set Firefox to only remember cookies until you exit out, or set the option to clear history when you close Firefox, or if you are using private browsing, then the cookie will be gone the next time you exit Firefox, start it up again, and go to Yahoo.
If you think this is the issue, tell us what exactly would you like to do about cookies and we might have an idea for accomplishing that.
