this home page keeps loading and I want to be rid of it forever ! deleted if possible. 76 year old and can't stop it !

The cause is an add-on, or adware.
You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
Can you tell me the name of the program I need to delete ? I have looked in control panel programs and cannot identify the program that needs deleted ! here is the link but I don't know how to identify the program it is ?

Remove the above from about:config
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)
