How do I keep FF from losing a page I just navigated to?

I will navigate to a page from either a bookmark or from search results and I often get bounced off the page with my browser reverting back to a page I was previously on. Often when I'm replying to someone in a forum or FB, the same thing happens and I lose the information I was typing. Is the browser automatically refreshing and kicking me out?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

It appears to have worked. Thanks - so far so good!

It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is detective.

Tried methods above and still doesn't correct the problem.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

After, restart Firefox. Are there any problems?

On the left side of the page, select Appearance. Then select Default.

If it happens when you use the backspace button then you can try to disable this feature and set browser.backspace_action to 2 on the about:config page

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

This can be a problem with websites that use the Google Adsense advertising service and a tool from Cloudflare named Rocket Loader. You can open links in a new tab instead of in the current tab to prevent this from happening. You can do that by middle clicking the link/bookmark or hold down the Ctrl key and left click or use the right click context menu.

  • [/questions/1107530] Why Firefox always redirect me to the previous page whenever I open up my website?

Accessing the page in a private browsing mode window with tracking protection enabled might work as well.

Still not fixed; I'll still be on a page and it will disappear and the previous website I was on reappears. At this point I'm wondering if I shouldn't just delete FF from my computer and reinstall???

Could not fix after multiple tries. Have quit using Firefox and switched to a completely different browser.
