I encounter several pop-ups on a regular basis. Not only do they redirect me when clicking links, they can appear from clicking almost anywhere. I get links related to Star Trek, Fire Fox, & Flash most often. I have uninstalled Fire Fox, and deleted all the related folders I could find, as well as registry entries, and I've ran virus/spyware scans, but they never stop. I always run Ad Block Plus, as well. This handful of ads are the only ones it doesn't seem to detect.

It sounds like ad-ware. What scanners have you tried?

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Can you try to take s acreen shot that we can check out? Try to include the address bar.

Taking a Screen shot; Windows > Start > search box > Snip. Select Snipping Tool.

Save the picture(s) to your desktop. Now look at the Reply box below. Press the button under it that says Browse. Now select the screen shot(s) from the desktop and load them one at a time.

It appears as though Malewarebytes has fixed this problem, where SpyBot did not. Although there were 57 threats found, I recognized 2 from MANY MANY years ago: Yantoo and Komomedia. Komomedia took several restarts and re-scans to remove 2 of its rootkits, but all seems well, now. TYVM. I've always heard good things about Malewarebytes for years and have been too stubborn to try it, until now.

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.

Once in a great while, run the scans. Just in case.
