I performed a factory reset on my computer today, and when I went to download Firefox 31, I could not find it using this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox

I always download this particular version, and just did no more than a week and a half ago.

What do I do from that page on to download Firefox 31? What do I click?

If you go to this page, you can download a copy of Firefox 31.0. To do that, you need to click the folder to your operating system. You are on Windows, so you would click the win32 folder. From there, you need to select the language that you would like to download Firefox in. Once you do that, download the executable installer without the word "stub" in the title.

If you would like to download Firefox 31.0, it can be found in this folder on our FTP server. All other versions of Firefox can also be found on our FTP server.

Note: Firefox 31.0 is an out-dated version of Firefox. Running an out-dated version of Firefox is not recommended, as they may contain serious security and functionality issues. Please use older versions at your own risk.

Just out of curiosity, is there any reason in particular that you want to run Firefox 31.0?

The link works for me and I see old versions there, but the display on the new server is way less attractive than on the old server...

Edit: Referring to the link in the support article.

The pic I uploaded is what I can see in the version of Internet Explorer I have, I can't see anything in Firefox, and even less versions in Opera. Can you send me the very first link you see of Firefox 31 from that page please? Edit: Referring to the link in the support article.

What happened to Firefox 31

support for the old Firefox 31.0 released on July 22, 2014 was dropped once Firefox 32.0 was released.

Only Firefox 42.0 and 38.4.0 ESR is current with security fixes.

Is that supposed to mean it's impossible to download? I've reset my computer to my factory settings plenty of times over the past year or two, ever since IE 7 stopped working, and downloaded Firefox 31 plenty of times. If I had to say, at least 25+ times. I've only had this problem today, and no longer than 10 days ago did I install Firefox 31 again.

I forgot to ask you if you could send me the very first link you see to download Firefox 31.0 on that page we're talking about, that I sent you what I seen in IE 7? It doesn't show any past versions for me in Firefox, and even less than IE 7 in Opera.

I've never viewed the page in Internet Explorer before. When I view it in Google Chrome, there is a paragraph with the general link, then the warning, then only two specific version links.

Are you planning to use Firefox on public websites? It's unsafe to use Firefox 31 on the web. What's the critical reason for using Firefox 31?

I don't believe it to be unsafe at all. It never has been and Firefox 31 is only browser I've used since its release. Never once had an issue while using it. I'm only satisfied with that version. I don't like the upgrades being made, one reason for which is I feel they are invasive of my privacy, the new appearances look too much like Google Chrome, everything's more complicated while said to be more helpful and "easier," and I don't like the layout of everything while I'm browsing in any other version. When I downloaded Google Chrome, all I seen was Firefox 41.0.2, yet in IE 7 and Opera I can see versions back to Firefox 37.0.2, just not back to 31.0, the only version I want and will use of Firefox. Why is it that I can't see 31.0? Do you? What's "the general link" and "then only two specific version links"? I just want the link to the download of 31 from that webpage, which I've gotten and used just fine 11 days ago. What happened since then? Why's stuff disappearing from that page now?

The support article adapts to the version of Firefox you use to view it. Its appearance in other browsers is something I haven't tested, other than looking at it in Google Chrome recently. It obviously is intended for Firefox users.

What I mean by unsafe is, if you look at the security fix page, you'll see numerous serious flaws have been found and corrected since Firefox 31, many of which affected Firefox 31: https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html

I am not aware of a large visual difference between Firefox 31 and Firefox 42. However, we can cross that bridge if we come to it.

I tried downloading downloading Firefox 31.0 from there 6 times now, all attempts resulting in failure. Firefox Setup does its thing for a few minutes, informed me the download was somehow interrupted (while me doing NOTHING AT ALL, but watching it go at it), click OK, just to be brought to this link https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox.../?channel=release&installer_lang=en-US, where clicking to continue "my download" on the right, will download Firefox 42.0. This seems like a deliberate attempt for me to only be able to have the current product you guys are pushing.

We will not come to me downloading Firefox 42. I will only use Firefox 31. Where and how can I download it?

Did you pick the full 30MB installer? Have IE completely download and save that, then you can start the installer from disk.

You know what's funny? I misread Wes telling me to download the installer without the word "stub" in it, which is the one you just told me to try. Everything works now, thank you so much. I appreciate a lot, guys. I got Firefox 31 now :)

If I kept a copy of the file within which would be the correct installer, and if access to this file somehow disappeared from the web, would I still be able to download Firefox 31? Hypothetically, of course.

Full installers, also known as offline installers, work without internet access.

Thank you for your help, Jeff.
