What happened to the CLASSIC FF home page used up to version 40?
Up to version 40 the CLASSIC graphic FF home page was called the DEFAULT. In 41 that seems to be gone. When I try to go back to the CLASSIC home page, the one we are all used to, I get a blank space under the address bar, and the FF thumbnail is gone, and the address bar is filled with an unknown, at least to me, website address. Nothing is familiar anymore. I am ready to ditch the OFFICIAL MOZILLA browser. The third party "LIGHT" is not affected, nor is the "DEVELOPER" version. At least for now. Would the THEME RESTORER work in 41 to bring back the CLASSIC look? Advice please. xxxxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com.

What I mean is that the DEFAULT home page consisted of the FF logo in the middle, with the SEARCH field below google being the default there. At the top was the FF thumbnail at the left with MOZILLA.com or similar in the address bar. This has been replaced with a new THUMBNAIL icon and EBIZ.com in the address bar. NOT acceptable.

You can have been infected with malware or an unwanted extension.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Probably you already checked the Options page, but just in case, here is where you could change your home page setting: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.
If you cannot edit the home page, or it keeps changing, or Firefox ignores it, then unfortunately the bad add-on/malware clean-up would be the next thing to try.
Note: If your question is about PaleMoon, there may be some differences from the official Firefox support articles and you could try PaleMoon support in that case.
